Not only that, the court staff tried to get me in trouble. She complained to the judge that I grabbed the my court papers and both the judge and prosecutor reprimanded me. They are all clannish and don't see both sides. I hope this place shapes up or disappears. It's not my time or money and neither for anyone who goes to Asbury Park!
It's a whole scheme even with Asbury Park police with giving ticket to people on boardwalks.
I got a ticket on the boardwalk as a tourist with a dog who knew, they are just maintaining Asbury Park as a place for exclusivity from out-of-towers. Instead of hospitality, they immediately gave me a ticket while I was trying to read the "no dog allowed" sign.
This practice of justice should be closed and retrained the meaning of justice. The court is suppose to rule of the right judgement but these people take justice as a money making machine.
I appear in court to explain that if we had known the beach rules I would immediately walk my dog off the boardwalk. They didn't want to overrule it because they need the money. The ticket is $89! What the hell! I tried to ask bargain for a lower fee as it is unreasonable, they gave it as $56 plus court fees and later finding out the court fees would be $30. In total I'm still paying $89 ticket for a minute on the boardwalk with my dog!
