WAY too expensive for what it is. I ordered hummus - simple enough, right? The crackers they give you with it make absolutely no sense... you'd expect to see pita, na'an, some sort of flat bread, but no! You're handed these baked, seeded, bizarre crisps that belong with tuna tartar. They overpower the watered-down flavorless hummus and you're left with about 5 left on your plate because the proportions are all wrong. And this costs you twice what you'd pay at a decent Greek joint.
The martini i ordered was strange, just good, not great. Certainly not worth $12.
Don't waste your money!
My partner ordered their version of an old-fashioned, which he found just "okay," and then our friend ordered the same drink 10 minutes later...it was a completely different color!! Zero consistency!
I went here because it was convenient, but if you're in the Asbury Park area and looking for a place to eat, I suggest you take the extra time and look around. Learn from my mistake.
The negative is the menu on line does not come close to what was offered.
Mediocrity marketing itself as high-class.
Second, the sandwich ordered was 3/4 roll. So after cutting the roll away, resetting the chicken and additional parts, I ate a mediocre sandwich.
It's a good place with good food. I was disappointed when I went because I have a party of 4 all together and they wouldn't let us use a booth unless we had 5 or more. But the place was literally empty and I saw a family of 3 sitting in a booth but wouldn't let us sit in a booth. Other then that the food and service was fine.
Skip this place because there are way better places in Asbury Park. It is freezing cold so dress warm if you dare. We arrived about 5-10 minutes early for our 3 pm reservation only to be told loudly that our reservation was for 3:45. Another girl walked over and asked what the problem was and the girl said loudly again they're here at 3 for their 3:45 reservation but I guess I will seat them any way. As we are seated, I realize the place is about 75% empty. We are seated at the table closest to the door between a large loud table and the ordering station for the waiters. I guess we are being punished for not arriving at the time that the fast talking girl that took our reservation over the phone put us in for. This is the worst table in the place and shouldn't even be there. Every time someone walked in or out the main door we froze even though there are inside doors that could be closed. Better yet, we could have been seated in front of the fireplace or in a booth overlooking the boardwalk and ocean or in any one of the many empty tables. There was a party of 2 in one of the booths that looked warm. The food is mediocre at best and while the server was pretty nice and friendly he could use some training and improvement. One member of our party ordered a dessert that was served hot and it was so cold in the restaurant it was steaming on the table. About the only positive thing I could say was the calamari appetizer was good. Happy Thanksgiving to the hostess and I hope when she grows up she find her forte. There really should be a Manager on site checking to see how every thing is being handled.
The positive comment that I can say is that it a good, centrally located meeting place with friends or family.
Great bar! Good music, atmosphere, drinks, food & staff. Street parking poor but big lots around, so no worries. Have fun.
